The Embankment School
The Embankment School in Jersey City New Jersey, is a unique educational institution providing an innovative learning approach. Focusing on 21st-century skills, the school offers students a comprehensive curriculum that combines traditional classroom instruction with hands-on experiences and project-based learning. Embankment School opened in January 2018 with 60 students in grades K-8. The school is on the Jersey City waterfront near the Erie Railroad Station and the Hudson River. It is within walking distance of historical landmarks such as Liberty State Park and Ellis Island.
Through its unique combination of academics, extracurricular activities, and community involvement, the Embankment School provides an enriching experience for all students. The school aims to empower students to become independent thinkers and global citizens prepared for college success and beyond. Empowerment is embedded into the curriculum and at every level, starting with the school’s connected learning philosophy and continuing through a focus on student engagement. Embankment offers hands-on, practical learning opportunities to develop entrepreneurship, project management, and teamwork skills. In addition to its academic offerings, the school provides enrichment opportunities in art & music (dance), fitness/sports, technology/STEM (more than 25+ devices in use, including 3D printers), community service & leadership development.
The Embankment School in Jersey City, New Jersey’s mission is to provide a high-quality education for all students, regardless of their background. And ability. For students who are not eligible for school lunch, this means serving breakfast and lunch every day for four weeks out of the year to provide a balanced diet, develop self-esteem and keep kids in school. The Embankment School also offers a free after-school program called “”Continuum,”” which provides academic enrichment activities for kids in grades K-5 and homework help. The Embankment School is an independent school with an innovative approach to education based on a foundation of individualized learning. Its mission is to provide an educational experience for all children regardless of their background.
